Kitty Gorrell began seriously studying art as a young adult and her creative drive has taken her from a determined beginner to an active professional artist specializing in subjects drawn from nature and her heritage. Following twenty years as a retail business owner, Kitty closed River Front Gallery in 2004 and today works as an independent artist, instructor, author, and director of arts programs. She has been presented the "Order of the Arts and Historical Letters" award by the West Virginia Division of Culture and History for outstanding service to fine arts in West Virginia. Her books and instructional packets are popular among painting students around the world. The KG Kanvas Karrier for transporting wet oil paintings was designed and is marketed by Gorrell Enterprises. Her "Palette of Oil Colors" kit includes her favorite twelve colors for oil painting and is available at http://KittyGorrell.com. A similar kit will also be available at Martin F/ Weber Company in the spring.
